Marcus Stamp also known as “Stampy is a 6ft 5, 21 year old defender who plays his football for Hashtag United first team and Sunday league team. Marcus started football at a young age , playing for his local club PROSTAR, which then over the year turned into Clapton FC. Stampy has always had his eye on the top level of football and loved to analyse his teammates performances to make his game the best it can be. Marcus also had a brief spell at the age of 15/16 years of age playing Semi Professional but he added that he fell out of love for the game and wanted to concentrate on education.
Marcus is a very talented person not only in Football but also Media. Stampy taught himself how to edit pictures , videos , and Vlogs for his YouTube Channel that he created later down the line. Stampy after leaving school got a full time token to work with Machinima which assured him stability after leaving college and a way to learn. Marcus got his opportunity for Hashtag very uniquely unlike others. Spencer Owen (Founder of Hashtag United) created a YouTube video called “Hashtag Academy Series” asking players like Stampy to take the opportunity to apply with both hands as it’s an amazing opportunity for a young player. Marcus got himself accepted into the first trial and found him self in the last 15 , were unfortunately was disqualified. The journey didn’t end there , Marcus made clear to Spencer he has a talent in Media and would like to shadow the production team if ever possible . And being the nice man Spencer is, he said Yes!
Marcus has gone on since to make his competitive debut for Hashtag United against Aston Villa stuff , scoring the first league goal from Centre back for the Tags and given an opportunity to vlog on the first teams channel. It’s clear that Marcus has adapted well to his role at Hashtag being a great defender to bring into the game when needed but a must needed voice when it comes to the vlogs when working with Lewis Preston as his passion and love for the game is unmissable. Marcus has proudly said to me that he is the only player to play for Hashtag and work for them as he works full time editing and posting the Hashtag United E-Sports videos which is pushing for 100,000 subscribers.
Marcus is a roar talent and most certainly deserves this recognition for everything he does for his team mates , stuff and the club . Good luck for the season bro.
